Kibela MCP server
by kj455
Let your AI search, read, and write Kibela notes for you, right from the chat.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Kibela, the place where your team keeps its notes and documents. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to find a note, read it, or even write a new one, without opening Kibela yourself. It is handy if your team lives in Kibela and you want answers from it while you chat.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a little helper program that gives your AI one new skill, in this case the ability to talk to Kibela. You add this helper to your AI app once, and from then on your AI can look things up in Kibela or make changes there when you ask. Think of it as giving your assistant a key to one specific filing cabinet.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about your Kibela content, like a topic or a note you remember. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper logs into Kibela using your team name and a personal token, then searches or fetches what you asked for. Kibela sends the result back, and your AI shows it to you in the chat, often as a short summary with the note titles and links.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search Kibela notes by keyword
- List your latest notes
- Read a note and its comments by ID
- Read a note by its path
- Create a new note
- Update the content of an existing note
Try asking your AI
- “Search Kibela for notes about our onboarding process”
- “Show me my most recent notes”
- “Read the note with this ID and summarize it for me”
- “Create a new Kibela note titled Meeting notes for today with this text”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, usually as a short summary plus the note titles and links so you can open them. When you ask for a specific note, you get its content and comments. If you ask it to create or update a note, it tells you what it changed. Nothing appears in Kibela until you ask for it.
Before you start
What you need
- A Kibela account on a team (you need the team name from your Kibela web address)
- A Kibela API access token (a kind of password for apps; Kibela's help page shows how to get one)
- An AI app that supports MCP, like Claude Desktop, Cursor, or VSCode
- Docker installed if you use the ready-made setup
Good to know
It can create and change notes in your Kibela, so check what your AI is about to write before you let it save.
Install it with your AI
Add Kibela MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Kibela MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone whose team keeps its notes in Kibela and wants quick answers or note writing without leaving the chat.
