Remembra MCP server
by remembra-ai
Give your AI a memory that lasts between chats, so it remembers facts and picks up where the last session stopped.

Remembra is a memory service for AI assistants. It lets your AI save facts and notes, then find them again later, even in a brand new chat. It is handy if you keep repeating the same background to your AI every day.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It forgets everything the moment you close the window. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Remembra, a memory store, so your AI can save things and look them up again when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI something worth keeping, like a client's name or a project detail. Your AI passes that to the Remembra helper. The helper stores it in your Remembra account, with the people and projects in it pulled out and private details like emails or phone numbers detected. Later, when you ask a question, your AI searches that stored memory and answers using what it finds. It can also save a short handoff when a work session ends, so the next session starts with the context.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Save facts and notes so your AI remembers them later
- Ask questions and get answers pulled from things you saved before
- Search your saved memories by meaning, not just exact words
- See the people, projects and relationships found inside your notes
- Get a short brief at the start of a new session about what was done last time
- Write a handoff when a session ends so the next one picks up the thread
- Check whether your setup is working with built-in doctor tools
Try asking your AI
- “Remember that Alice is CEO of Acme Corp and she prefers email over Slack”
- “Who runs Acme Corp?”
- “What did we decide about the invoice PDF export last week?”
- “Give me a brief on what the last session did”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain text in your chat, written from what your AI found in your saved memories. When you save something, you get a short confirmation, sometimes with a note if a fact did not match its source. When you ask for a session brief, you get a short summary of who worked last, what is done, what is failing and the next step. Searching gives you a list of matching memories with their context.
Before you start
What you need
- A free Remembra account and key from app.remembra.dev (a kind of password for the service)
- Python installed, plus pipx to install the Remembra package
- An AI tool that supports MCP, like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex or Gemini CLI
- Optional: Docker if you want to run the Remembra server on your own machine instead of using the cloud
Good to know
It stores what you tell it, so avoid pasting passwords or private details you would not want kept, even though it tries to detect and hide sensitive information.
Install it with your AI
Add Remembra MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Remembra MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who use an AI assistant for ongoing work and are tired of re-explaining the same background every day, especially developers and anyone juggling several projects or clients.
