Celiums Memory is a memory engine you connect to your AI so it can actually remember things between chats. It keeps notes, a first-person journal, and a simple sense of time and emotional state. It is handy for people who use an AI assistant every day and are tired of repeating the same background information.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It forgets everything the moment you close the window. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to Celiums Memory, a place where it can save and look up notes about you, your projects, and past conversations.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something, like to remember a fact or to recall what you discussed last week. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper stores the note or searches through what is already saved, using a mix of keyword search, meaning-based search, and a sense of how important each item is. Then it sends the answer back, and your AI shows it to you in the chat. It can also keep a running journal of what the AI did and when.

What you can do with it

  • Ask your AI to remember a fact, a preference, or a decision
  • Ask your AI to recall what you talked about earlier
  • Have your AI keep a dated journal of its own actions
  • Check that the journal has not been tampered with
  • Search through notes and skills you have added yourself
  • Ask for a summary of what the engine knows about a topic
  • Delete or update a memory you no longer want kept

Try asking your AI

  • “Remember that my team uses Tuesday standups at 9am.”
  • “What did we decide about the pricing page last month?”
  • “Write a journal entry about what you just helped me with.”
  • “Search my saved notes for anything about the Henderson client.”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain answers in the chat: a list of matching memories, a short summary, or a confirmation that something was saved. When you ask for a recall, you usually see the relevant notes with a little context about when they were stored. Journal checks come back as a simple pass or fail with the entries that were checked.

Before you start

What you need

  • A computer where you can run a command-line program
  • The Rust toolchain (the software that builds and runs this program)
  • An MCP-compatible AI client, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Cline

Good to know

It can store and later delete or change your notes, so only connect it to an AI client you trust, and avoid putting sensitive or private information into a version the README says is not production-ready.
