Claudia is a task manager made for AI assistants. It gives your AI a place to write down what it is working on, break big jobs into smaller steps, and mark things done. It is handy if you use Claude for longer projects and want to see and steer what it is doing.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one connects your AI to Claudia, a task tracking system that lives on your own computer. Once connected, your AI can create tasks, update them and check them off for you when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to plan or track some work. The AI uses this helper to talk to Claudia, which stores everything in a small file on your computer. Claudia keeps each task with its status, priority, notes and any smaller subtasks underneath it. You can then ask your AI what is pending, what is done, or what is blocked, and it reads that back to you. There is also a web page you can open to see the same tasks as a simple board.

What you can do with it

  • Create tasks and subtasks with titles, priorities and notes
  • Move a task through stages like pending, in progress and completed
  • Link tasks so one cannot start until another is finished
  • Group tasks into sprints with start and end dates
  • Save notes and context on a task so your AI remembers between chats
  • List what is ready to work on and what is blocked
  • Open a web board to see and drag tasks around

Try asking your AI

  • “Create a task called Write the quarterly report with high priority”
  • “Break the website redesign into smaller subtasks”
  • “What tasks are still pending right now?”
  • “Mark the invoice task as completed and add a short summary”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain answers in the chat, like a list of tasks with their status and priority, or a tree showing subtasks under a parent. When you ask for one task, it shows the details, notes and any acceptance criteria. When your AI changes something, it tells you what it updated. You can also open the web board to see the same tasks visually.

Before you start
