Let your AI enlarge and clean up your photos, videos and audio through UpRes.
UpRes is a service that makes images, videos and audio look better and bigger. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to UpRes, so you can ask it in plain words to upscale a photo or clean up a clip. It is handy if you work with pictures, product shots, old scans or AI-generated video and don't want to learn a new tool.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. Here, that helper connects your AI to UpRes, so when you ask for something, the AI can send the job to UpRes and bring the result back to you. You don't have to install anything complicated; the helper runs quietly in the background.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "make this photo bigger and sharper". The AI passes your request to this helper, which talks to the UpRes service on your behalf. UpRes runs the job, and the helper checks on it until it's done. Then it hands you back the finished file, or a link to it, right in the chat. You can also ask it to check your remaining credits or list the available models.

What it gives back to you
You get back a finished file, usually saved to your computer or given as a link you can open. For simple questions like credits or model lists, you get a short answer in the chat. If a job is still running, the AI tells you it's in progress and can check again. You'll also see the model used and the output size.

What you need
- An UpRes account (free, includes 5 upscales a month)
- An API key from your UpRes account page (a kind of password for apps; the site shows it once)
- A paid plan if you want to use the API and batch features (Studio tier)
- The Claude desktop app or another AI tool that supports MCP servers

Each upscale uses one of your monthly credits or minutes, and the free plan adds a watermark to your output.
