CalDAV / CardDAV MCP server
by PhilflowIO
Let your AI read and change your calendars, contacts and tasks on Nextcloud, Baikal, Radicale or iCloud.
This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your own calendar, contacts and task server. It works with common self-hosted setups like Nextcloud, Baikal and Radicale, and also with iCloud. It is handy if you keep your schedule, address book and to-do list on one of those and want your AI to look things up or make changes for you.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see your calendar or your contacts. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, and here that skill is talking to your CalDAV/CardDAV server. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI things like what is on your calendar tomorrow, and it will go and check for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question or give it an instruction in normal words. The AI passes that to this helper program. The helper then talks to your calendar, contact or task server using the standard CalDAV and CardDAV rules. It brings back what it found, or makes the change you asked for. Then the AI tells you the result in the chat, in plain language.
What you can do with it
- List your calendars, address books and task lists
- Search events by text, date range or location
- Create, update or delete calendar events
- Look up a contact by name, email or company
- Create and update contacts in your address book
- Create, update and complete tasks with due dates and priorities
- Check when you are free or busy in a time range
Try asking your AI
- “What is on my calendar next week?”
- “Create a team meeting tomorrow at 2 PM.”
- “What is Sarah's email address?”
- “Show me my overdue high-priority tasks.”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, in normal sentences. For example, a list of events with their times, or a contact's phone number and email. When you ask it to change something, it tells you what it changed. It can also show you free and busy slots for a day or a week.
Before you start
What you need
- A CalDAV/CardDAV server address, like Nextcloud, Baikal, Radicale or iCloud
- Your username and password for that server (for iCloud, an app-specific password)
- For Google Calendar, OAuth details from Google instead
- Node.js 22 or newer if you install it with npx, or use the one-click bundle instead
Good to know
It can create, change and permanently delete events, contacts and tasks on your server, so double-check before saying yes to a delete.
Install it with your AI

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
