This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your Google Tasks. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI to add a task, find one, or mark something done, and it will do it in your real task list. It is handy if you keep your to-dos in Google Tasks and want to manage them by chatting instead of clicking.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see your Google Tasks or change anything there. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, and here that skill is talking to Google Tasks. So when you ask your AI about your tasks, it passes the request to this helper, and the helper goes and does it in your Google account.

What this MCP server does

You type a request in plain words, like asking to add a task or find one. Your AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper talks to Google Tasks using your Google account. Google Tasks does the work, like creating the task or marking it done. Then the helper sends the result back, and your AI tells you what happened in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Search your tasks by keyword
  • List all your tasks
  • Create a new task with a title, notes, and due date
  • Update a task's title, notes, status, or due date
  • Mark a task as completed
  • Delete a task
  • Clear all completed tasks from a list

Try asking your AI

  • “Add a task called Send the quarterly report, due Friday”
  • “What tasks do I have about the budget?”
  • “Mark the task about the client call as done”
  • “Delete the task called Old reminder”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, like a list of matching tasks with their titles, due dates, and notes. When you create, update, or delete something, it tells you it was done. You can also ask it to read a specific task and it will show you the details. Everything shows up as normal text in your conversation.
